Gregory Rogers was the first Australian to be awarded the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal for illustration. He is now regarded as one of Australia's finest children's book illustrators. His book The Boy, The Bear, The Baron, The Bard was shortlisted in the 2005 CBCA Awards Younger Readers category, and was selected as one of the Ten Best Illustrated Picture Books of 2004 by the New York Times and as a Notable Children's Book of the Year by the American Library Association. Gregory lives in inner-city Brisbane, next door to a bookshop and a clairvoyant.
